Repository Policy

EduAI Nexus: Journal of Artificial Intelligence in Education permits and encourages author self-archiving. The permissions below distinguish the preprint, accepted manuscript, and version of record so that readers can identify the version they are using.

1. Copyright and Permitted Versions

Authors retain copyright and grant EduAI Nexus the right of first journal publication. Preprint sharing does not, by itself, constitute prior journal publication or prevent consideration by EduAI Nexus.

  • Preprint: The author’s manuscript before formal journal peer review. It may be shared before and during submission.
  • Accepted manuscript: The version accepted following peer review, before final copyediting, typesetting, and journal formatting. It may be deposited upon acceptance.
  • Version of record: The final article published by EduAI Nexus. It may be deposited upon publication.

EduAI Nexus imposes no embargo on these permitted versions once they exist. No additional permission or self-archiving fee from EduAI Nexus is required.

2. Suitable Deposit Locations

Authors may use institutional repositories, suitable subject repositories, general-purpose repositories such as Zenodo, and personal or departmental websites. Academic networking platforms such as ResearchGate and Academia.edu may also be used in accordance with the applicable rights and platform terms. Repositories offering stable records, clear version information, and persistent identifiers are preferred for long-term discoverability.

3. Version Labels and Publication Links

Each deposit should include the title, author names, date, and a clear version label. Retain applicable copyright, attribution, and licence notices.

  • Preprint: Identify it as a preprint and state that it has not been formally peer reviewed where applicable. Include its own repository identifier or link, if available. A EduAI Nexus citation or DOI is not required before it exists, and submission must not be described as acceptance.
  • Accepted manuscript: Identify EduAI Nexus as the accepting journal and label the file “Accepted manuscript”. Add the version-of-record citation and DOI or stable journal link once available.
  • Version of record: Include the full article citation, the DOI or stable journal link, and the CC BY 4.0 licence link.

After publication, authors should update earlier repository records with the final citation and link where possible, while retaining accurate version labels. A preprint identifier and a journal-article DOI identify different records and should not be presented as interchangeable.

4. Disclosure at Submission

The corresponding author should disclose any existing preprint and provide its link or identifier when submitting through OJS. Preprint posting does not imply endorsement or acceptance by EduAI Nexus. Simultaneous consideration by another journal is governed by the journal’s originality and submission requirements.

5. Licensing and Reuse

The version of record is published under CC BY 4.0, permitting sharing and adaptation, including commercial reuse, with appropriate attribution, a link to the licence, and an indication of changes. Attribution must not imply endorsement. Third-party material excluded from that licence remains subject to its own rights and permissions.

A preprint does not automatically acquire CC BY 4.0 merely because it is submitted to EduAI Nexus. Authors should identify the licence or terms applicable to the version deposited. Authors may enter non-exclusive arrangements to distribute the published article, provided these respect the article’s licence and acknowledge initial journal publication in EduAI Nexus.

6. Responsible Sharing and Preservation

Sharing permissions do not authorise disclosure of confidential peer-review correspondence, identifiable participant data, or third-party material without the necessary rights. Author deposits provide additional access copies; they do not replace the publisher’s responsibilities described in the Archiving Policy.
