About the journal
What research does EduAI Nexus publish?
EduAI Nexus publishes interdisciplinary research on artificial intelligence and educational transformation, including ethical, policy, equity, and pedagogical dimensions. Studies should explain their educational contribution and the relevance of AI to the research question. Consult the Aims and Scope.
Can I submit research conducted in a single country or institution?
Yes. A study does not need to involve multiple countries to make an international contribution. Explain the educational context, engage relevant international scholarship, and show what the findings contribute beyond the immediate setting. Discuss the limits of transferability or generalisation.
Which article types are considered?
EduAI Nexus considers research articles, conceptual articles, review articles, position papers, policy reports, and case studies. Each submission should make a clear scholarly contribution and use methods and argumentation appropriate to its purpose. The Author Guidelines describe these six categories.
Preparing and submitting a manuscript
How do I submit a manuscript?
Read the Author Guidelines and submit through the journal’s Open Journal Systems (OJS) submission page. Submission is exclusively through OJS. Only the corresponding author needs an account; co-authors do not need separate accounts. The corresponding author should provide complete information for all authors and check that the uploaded files and submission metadata agree. Retain the manuscript ID for future correspondence.
What if I cannot register or access my account?
Check Calls for Papers & News for current submission and account information. If you experience registration or access problems, contact eduainexus@myresearch.id with your name, affiliation, country, and a description of the problem. Email is for account support and enquiries; manuscripts must be submitted through OJS. Existing users can use the password-recovery option on the login page.
Which files and information should I prepare?
Prepare an editable Microsoft Word manuscript, author details, and the declarations and supporting files specified in the Author Guidelines. For anonymous review, keep identifying information separate from the review manuscript. Check that figures and tables are legible, citations match the reference list, and permissions are available for third-party material.
What are the word limit, abstract format, and referencing requirements?
Manuscripts should be 6,000–8,000 words, including the abstract, references, tables, figures, and appendices; allow 200 words for each table or figure. Follow the manuscript requirements and article template linked in the Author Guidelines for the structured abstract, keywords, and formatting. Use APA 7th edition referencing.
Can I submit a preprint or a manuscript being considered elsewhere?
EduAI Nexus permits preprint sharing under its Repository Policy. Disclose the preprint and provide its link when submitting. A manuscript must not be under consideration by another journal at the same time. Disclose related publications, conference versions, and overlapping material so the editor can assess originality and publication history.
Peer review and editorial decisions
How does peer review work?
Submissions first undergo editorial screening for scope, scholarly quality, completeness, and ethical compliance. Manuscripts selected for external review undergo double-anonymous peer review, normally involving at least two independent experts. Reviewers advise the editor, who makes the editorial decision. See Guidance for Navigating the Review Process.
How do I prepare an anonymous manuscript?
Remove author names, affiliations, acknowledgements, and identifying information from the manuscript and file properties. Check tables, figures, supplementary files, and tracked changes. Cite your own published work in the third person. Provide information needed for editorial checks separately where it could reveal author identity.
Why might a manuscript be declined before external review?
An initial editorial decision may reflect a mismatch with the journal’s scope, an insufficiently developed contribution, methodological or reporting problems, ethical concerns, or incomplete submission materials. Meeting formatting requirements does not by itself establish suitability for peer review. Read the decision letter carefully before deciding on your next steps.
How long does review take?
Timing varies with manuscript complexity, reviewer availability, revisions, and editorial assessment. Consult Journal Insights & Metrics for the journal’s published timeline information. These figures are indicative and do not guarantee a decision or publication date for an individual manuscript.
How can I check progress and respond to a revision request?
Log in to OJS to view your submission and editorial correspondence. When revising, address each editorial and reviewer comment in a point-by-point response, identify where changes were made, and explain any reasoned disagreement. Upload the requested files by the stated deadline, or request an extension from the editor in advance. Include the manuscript ID in enquiries.
Research integrity and author responsibilities
What ethical information is needed for research involving people?
Report the approving ethics committee and approval details, informed consent procedures, and safeguards for privacy and confidentiality. Where formal review was not required, explain the applicable exemption or institutional requirements. Research involving children or other vulnerable participants requires appropriate additional safeguards. See Research & Publishing Ethics.
May I use generative AI tools?
Disclose relevant generative AI use, including the tool and its role, as required by EduAI Nexus’s ethics policy. Authors remain accountable for the accuracy, originality, references, and integrity of the work; AI tools cannot be authors. AI use as part of the research methods must be described in the methods section. Consult the policy’s specific restrictions on AI-generated or altered images and artwork.
What should I disclose about authorship, funding, and competing interests?
List only contributors who meet the journal’s authorship criteria, obtain all authors’ approval, and describe contributions using the required CRediT statement. Disclose funding, the funder’s role, and relevant financial or non-financial competing interests. Contact the editor promptly about any proposed authorship change. Follow the declarations and disclosure-form instructions in the ethics policy.
How should I report data availability and supporting evidence?
Explain how the evidence was collected and analysed, and identify any data, materials, or supplementary files available to support the findings. Where sharing is restricted by consent, confidentiality, or other obligations, explain the restriction and any appropriate access arrangements. Protect participants’ identities. Editors may request supporting evidence or ethical documentation during assessment.
Open access and publication charges
Is EduAI Nexus open access, and when is the publication charge payable?
EduAI Nexus uses a gold open access publishing model, so published articles are freely available to readers. The standard article processing charge (APC) is USD50, payable upon acceptance, as described in the Author Guidelines. The optional Accelerated Publication track has an APC of USD150, payable only upon acceptance. Contact the editorial office with any questions about payment arrangements.
Can I request a fee waiver or discount?
Authors facing financial hardship or insufficient institutional or funder support may request a full or partial waiver. The corresponding author should apply for the author group before or at initial submission through editor.eduainexus@gmail.com, explaining available funding. Requests are considered individually by the publisher, separately from editorial assessment, and require written confirmation. See the fee and waiver policy for the criteria and procedure.
Does payment or use of an editing service influence acceptance?
Editorial decisions are based on scholarly merit, relevance, and compliance with the journal’s requirements. Paying a publication charge or purchasing language editing or other support does not guarantee acceptance. Verify payment instructions with the editorial office using the journal’s official contact details before transferring funds.
Publication, copyright, and discoverability
When will an accepted article be published?
EduAI Nexus plans two issues each year, in June and December. No issue has yet been published. An accepted manuscript must complete the required editorial and production steps before publication. The editorial office will confirm scheduling. Consult the issue archive and Journal Insights & Metrics for publication information.
What should I check in the proofs?
Check the accuracy of author names and affiliations, text, tables, figures, references, and any production errors. Return corrections within the deadline provided by the editorial office. Proofs are intended for correcting errors; substantial changes to content or findings should be discussed with the editor.
Who holds copyright, and may I share the published article?
Authors retain copyright and grant EduAI Nexus the right of first publication. Articles are published under CC BY 4.0. The Repository Policy permits sharing of preprints, accepted manuscripts, and published versions without an embargo. Identify the version and, once published, include the article’s DOI, publication details, and licence information as applicable.
Where can I verify indexing and journal metrics?
Use Journal Insights & Metrics as a starting point, then verify coverage directly in the relevant database or index. A DOI, a citation from an indexed article, or appearance in a search engine does not by itself establish inclusion in a particular citation index or a journal quartile. The journal currently reports indexing as “Ongoing process”. Citation and acceptance metrics are not yet reportable. Verified coverage will be identified when available; no Scopus quartile is claimed.
Corrections, enquiries, and reviewer participation
How do I request withdrawal or report an error in a published article?
Contact the editorial office with the manuscript ID or article DOI, explain the request or error, and provide supporting details. Withdrawal concerns unpublished submissions and should be confirmed through the editorial workflow. Regular-track manuscripts have no withdrawal fee. For the optional accelerated track, author-initiated withdrawal after accelerated processing begins incurs USD75, subject to the agreed-APC limit, any approved waiver, and credit for an APC already paid. Published articles are handled through correction or retraction procedures, with no fixed deadline for reporting a substantive error. See the Article Withdrawal and Correction Policy and Revenue Sources for details.
How can I appeal a decision or raise a complaint?
Follow the complaints and appeals procedure in Research & Publishing Ethics. Provide the manuscript ID, a clear explanation, and relevant evidence. The policy provides for impartial handling and review of a reasoned appeal by an editor not previously involved. An appeal does not guarantee reversal of the original decision.
How can I contact the journal or express interest in reviewing?
Use Contact and Support for editorial and technical enquiries. For submission enquiries, include the manuscript ID, title, and a concise description of the issue; attach a screenshot if helpful, excluding passwords or sensitive participant information. Researchers interested in reviewing can consult the Reviewers page and send their expertise, affiliation, and ORCID or scholarly profile to the editorial office.
